Email List Building Strategies

You need a list. That’s a given. It’s the one thing above all else that matters most. Once you have a list built, you can market to it again and again. It’s a resource you can tap at any time and generate income.

OK, but how?

Here’s what you need to build your list:

  • The Squeeze Page
  • The Incentive
  • The Opt-in Success Page

The Squeeze Page – The landing page is the page that has your opt-in form on it. This is where they will enter their email address. That’s why it needs to look like a professionally designed page. It’s also got to be free from distractions. You’ve also got to make a strong “close”.

If you fail to make a strong close, you’re wasting your efforts. This “close” tells your visitors what you want them to do. And if you don’t include it, they won’t opt in. The funny thing is that people just don’t know what to do unless you tell them.

One way to really spice up your squeeze page is to add a compelling video to the page. You only have a few second to get your visitors attention – video helps! And you can repeat the call to action several times int he video. And you can have the video just tell them to fill in your form after it’s done playing.

Now, don’t worry if you have no idea how to make videos. You can hire freelancers to do this for you for a few hundred dollars. Or you can get email list tools that include video squeeze pages.

The Bribe – Next, you’ve got to figure out what your bribe is. People won’t give you their email for nothing. Email privacy is very important to most people. So you have to give them a good reason to do it.

You have to provide value in your bribe for it to be good. It has to be something that people actually want. And can benefit from. Here’s some examples:

  • A free report
  • Some useful software
  • Videos
  • An email training series

You’ve got to create some great content. It’s got to be something helpful for your new subscribers. It goes without saying it must be free. But to get the email, it’s got to be a good offer.

If you’re worried about creating this content, don’t be. Here again, you can hire freelancers to create this for you. Simply tell them what the topic is and they can write the content. For example, you could have them write a 5-part email course. Each email will cost between $20 and $25. So, you’ll get the whole series written for under $150.

You can also get email list building tools that include the premium. Two things to keep in mind when writing (or buying) and email training series. The first thing is that it delivers value to your subscribers. It also¬†has to generate revenue for you! Mixing some affiliate products into your email series is a great way to do this. This is such a simple solution because you don’t have to create the product. And make money right away from your list.

The Thank You Page – Finally, you need to consider your opt-in confirmation page. After subscribing to your list, your visitor is redirected to this page. It’s nice to give them some great content right away. That way, they feel glad that they gave you their email address. It also sets the foundation for your relationship with them. It also makes them more likely to open your emails.

You can use a “done for you” email marketing system. You can also put the whole thing together on your own. And write it all yourself. Or have someone ghost write for you.

In closing

It doesn’t matter if you do all of this yourself. Or if you hire people to do this for you. Or go with a complete package. The key is to start building your list. Because once its built… You can basically write your own meal ticket.
