So in the last post you saw the first 2 of 10 of my most disliked sneaky and close to unethical tricks and tactics that internet marketers use to MAKE you buy. Today I’ll add a couple more..
3. Additional Upsells That You Need! – Product is only $27 or $37 BUT you need more parts to make it function at full capacity
You’ve bitten… hook, line and sinker… you buy the first portion of what looks like an incredible product at a decent price… then the upsell… then the sideways sell… and if you don’t take that… the down sell… how many freakin’ different things do they want you to BUY anyway??
I once went through the painful process of a purchase where there were 4 different “after-sells” and then a $37 product instantly became a $490 investment in the future… I’ll let you know how that works out for me in a later post.
4. If This Is So Darn Good… Why Aren’t You Keeping It To Yourself? –
4-5 pages of ranting and touting just how wonderful, amazing, life-changing and miraculously simple their product is and you are hooked… but did you ever think about this one simple thing… if it is so incredible, why are they selling it to us in mass quantities? Wouldn’t you think that the author or originator of the system or software or plan would just keep using it to make millions of bucks and keep the whole concept quiet and to themselves.
I have never been able to figure out why they want to “share” their concepts with us if they are such simple and fast money makers. DUH… ’cause selling it to us makes them MORE money than if they used it themselves, right?
As P. T. Barnum once said – “There is a sucker born every minute!”.
But then again he did also said this – “If I shoot at the sun, I may hit a star”. Guess us suckers will just keep on shooting blindly at that darn sun, eh?
